Annelies – Experienced Live-In Carer with a Nursing Background
Hi, I’m Annelies 🤩
I am a 60-year-young, healthy and energetic live-in carer with over 10 years’ experience supporting clients across the UK. Originally Dutch and having lived in South Africa for many years, I now work regularly in the UK and have full right to work with all paperwork up to date.
I am a qualified Registered Nurse in General, Community and Psychiatric Nursing, and also a Midwife. My clinical background, combined with my live-in care experience, allows me to provide safe, confident and compassionate support tailored to each individual.
Over the past decade, I have worked in live-in placements ranging from 6–12 weeks at a time, supporting clients with:
-
Dementia (early and advanced stages)
-
Stroke recovery
-
Spinal cord injuries
-
Muscular dystrophy
-
Cerebral palsy
-
Physical frailty and mobility challenges
I am hands-on, practical and highly organised. Personal care and grooming are extremely important to me, as is maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable home environment. I take pride in helping clients feel dignified, respected and well cared for.
Beyond clinical care, I focus on quality of life. I genuinely want the people I support to enjoy life to its fullest potential. I love cooking and baking nutritious meals, and I enjoy music, nature, walking, crafts, sport and swimming (especially cold-water swimming!). I’m also a great animal lover and very comfortable in homes with pets.
I am a confident driver, including experience with wheelchair-adapted vehicles, and am happy to support outings and activities that promote independence and wellbeing.
Families describe me as compassionate, friendly, patient and hardworking. I can provide excellent references.
I will be available for a new live-in placement from mid-April 2026 onwards.
If you are looking for experienced, reliable and genuinely caring live-in support, I would be delighted to hear from you.
